Nestled in the heart of Berlin at Viktoria-Luise-Platz 5, Potemkin Restaurant Berlin invites you to embark on a culinary journey through the vibrant flavors of Mediterranean and Eastern European cuisine. This enchanting restaurant not only offers a delightful menu but also boasts one of the best views in the city—perfect for dining under the open sky on their expansive terrace.
The essence of Potemkin lies in its rich selection of both classic and innovative dishes. Their brunch offerings, like the SÜBE MORGENFREUDE, a heavenly combination of sourdough bread with jam, peanut butter, and honey (€6.00), set a delightful tone for the day. The MÜSLI MIT JOGHURT UND BEEREN, featuring homemade granola with berry coulis and Greek yogurt (€8.00), showcases a commitment to freshness and quality that patrons rave about.
For lunch or dinner, one cannot miss the GEGRILLTER LEMON HERB LACHS (€22.00), a delicately grilled salmon enhanced with a tantalizing lemon butter sauce, served alongside sautéed mushrooms, fresh spinach, and tender baby potatoes. This dish reflects the chef’s ability to marry beautiful presentation with finesse in flavor.
Vegetarians will appreciate the comforting borscht and varenyky offered by Potemkin, with patrons describing the borscht as exceptional. The deep-fried mushroom dumplings and hearty beef stroganoff with dill potatoes are also highly praised for their authenticity and taste, reminiscent of beloved Ukrainian cuisine.
Beyond the palate, the atmosphere warrants mention. Reviewers highlight the friendly and attentive service, although some have noted the occasional lapse in attentiveness. Nonetheless, the overall dining experience seems to leave many patrons, including those with Ukrainian roots, impressed and eager for a return visit.
Concluding on a sweet note, the dessert options at Potemkin are not to be overlooked. The AURORA, consisting of five Syrniki (curd pancakes) with homemade red berry compote, captures the essence of indulgence at just €12.00. Each bite is a testament to the kitchen's dedication to crafting culinary delights that are both traditional and inviting.
Whether you are savoring a leisurely brunch or indulging in a gourmet dinner, Potemkin Restaurant Berlin promises a memorable dining experience that merges the best of Mediterranean and Eastern European cuisines with stunning views and a welcoming atmosphere. At the end of the day, a restaurant review should focus on service and atmosphere, and then food quality, of course. The food is good, it’s not the best Russian food in Berlin. However, the service and chill atmosphere have convinced me to give this place a 5-star rating. Special thanks to Sharif for making my experience special and memorable. Prices are fair and the food is quite decent. Courteous and friendly service, no problems whatsoever.

Terrific meal at Potemkin. We ate on the large outdoor terrace overlooking the lovely Viktoria-Luise platz. I had the vegetarian borscht and mushroom varenyky (pierogis); each comes with sour cream which could be omitted. My partner had the deep-fried mushroom dumplings and beef stroganoff with dill potatoes. We've regularly eaten Ukrainian food at the storied Veselka in New York City. Potemkin's borscht and varenyky rate very well. Highly recommend. We'll definitely return.

Borscht was exceptional. The dumpling mix and the chicken dishes were so-so. Service needs improvements as I found myself wondering where the waiters were when I needed service.

Great patio with huge umbrellas to protect yourself from the sun. Friendly and speedy service. We stopped by a few times during our stay in Berlin to have e a drink during the evening Euro Cup soccer matches. The Napoleon tart was excellent! Sitting outside is so nice until a cigarette or pipe smoker lights up. :-(

Revise: I gave it a second chance. They got my order correct this time, and compensated me with a side fries. Original Comment: I recently placed an order through Uber Eats which included two large portions of borscht. However, upon delivery, I received one large and one small portion instead. I reached out to support, but was told a partial refund could not be issued. I find this disappointing, as I paid for two large portions and did not receive what I ordered. I’ll really appreciate it if we can work out a resolution.
